The photograph above shows the Brisbane River
running through Kookaburra Park. The land on the far side
of the river is private property and the river bank in the foreground
is in the park grounds.
This stretch of the Brisbane River is often used by people
using canoes and power boats alike. The view from the boat ramp
can be seen here.
During all hours of the day you can view wildlife such as families
of ducks both in the park and on the river.
The park is also the home to the Karana District Kayak &
Canoe Club. The club has its own boat shed set up in the park
and meets at this point of the park around 6 days a week for regular
training and social events. Anyone is welcome to join them for a
social trip along the river on Sunday mornings. On these trips along
the river it is common to see such wildlife as platypus, foxes and
even the occasional shark.
